Stompin’ Tom Connors is a Canadian legend, and one of Prince Edward Island’s favourite adoptive sons. His music has spanned generations and his story telling has shaped the Canadian identity. Now Islanders and visitors can experience the life and legacy of one of Canada’s true folk heroes at the Stompin’ Tom Centre, Schoolhouse and Homestead in Skinner’s Pond.
The Stompin’ Tom Centre features exhibits dedicated to Connors’ musical and cultural legacy, a gift shop, food service, and a space that features regular entertainment throughout the summer. The home where Connors lived and the schoolhouse he attended as a boy have been restored.
The Design Foundation created an interactive which allows users to choose one of Connors' songs. They can listen to their rendition and choose to purchase a recording in which they sing along with the Canadian artist.
